ER Medicine, Covid, and Race – Joshua Mugele, MD

Joshua Mugele, MD sits down with Kris Ferguson, MD, to speak about ER Medicine, Running an ER Residency program, the impact of Covid on life in the ER, and how America’s current discussion on race fits into medicine. Dr. Mugele trained in Disaster Medicine and spent some time in Liberia during the Ebola outbreak there, which helps guide him on his response to Covid. Dr. Mugele volunteered his services to help New York hospitals manage the large spike in Covid patients.

Dr. Josh Mugele trained at the University of Michigan Medical School, followed by Indiana University for ER residency and a disaster medicine fellowship. He currently works at Indiana University as the assistant residency program director. This is his second career after working in Silicon Valley software startups for a decade.
